The 2019 and second ever season of the MLR kicks off this weekend. With the addition of RUNY and Toronto Arrows, the league grows from 7 teams to 9. The 2019 season also sees an additional 8 games for each club bringing the total number of games to 16 per club before the playoffs. Defending champions the Seattle Seawolves will face stiff competition this year in defending their title most notably from RUNY who have made some shrewd signings in Cathal Marsh and Ben Foden.
With ESPN+, SNY, CBSSN and other local networks broadcasting the MLR, the future certainly looks bright for the MLR.
