MLR Week 11 Recap and Team of the Week

MLR Week 11 saw wins for the Seattle Seawolves, Glendale Raptors, NOLA Gold and San Diego Legion.

The Seawolves put their disappointing defeat well and truly behind them with solid performance over the Utah Warriors. Mat Turner made a welcome return last week and put in a great shift on Friday to make the team of the week.

The Raptors continued their winning ways with a high scoring victory over the Houston SaberCats. Glendale’s strength in depth once again proved to be a valuable asset with Malon Al-Jiboori once again coming off the bench to get on the scoresheet and Dylan Takaito-Simpson shining when he came on.
It was winger John Ryberg who stole the show. Ryberg scored a hattrick of tries and put in a man of the match performance.

NOLA Gold bounced back to form with a win over the Toronto Arrows in Toronto. In what was an extremely close game, Ignacio Dotti clinched the victory for the Gold with a 79th minute try to win the game.
Tristan Blewett once again had a great game and managed to get on the scoresheet for the Gold at outside center.

For the Arrows, Canadian international Lucas Rumball once again led by example with 26 tackles to his name against the Gold.

San Diego had an impressive victory against the Seawolves in week 10 and looked to continue this rich vein of form against Austin Elite Rugby, and they did. In what was a pretty one sided affair, San Diego laid the foundations in the first half but really stepped it up a gear in the second half by containing the Elite to a single score for the second forty minutes.

Nate Augspurger for the second week in a row had a fantastic game. Augspurger showcased his incredible distribution and also managed to get a try for his efforts.
