This weekend RUNY host the Utah Warriors at their Brooklyn home of MCU Park. In what will be a vital game for RUNY to keep pace with the chasing pack, the game itself promises to be a cracker.
RUNY currently sit in fifth position with a game in hand on every team ahead of them. A bonus point win could push them up to second place so rest assured there will be a lot of emphasis placed on scoring as much points as possible for RUNY to push up the table.
RUNY are also hosting a curtain raiser game of Gotham Knights vs DC Scandals which kicks off at 5.30pm. Both Gotham Knights and DC Scandals are IRG (International Gay Rugby) teams. Additionally, the national anthem will be sung beforehand by The Gay Men’s Chorus.
RUNY players will also be wearing rainbow laces and MCU Park will be decorated in RUNY Pride Flags.
With the comments made recently by Israel Folau, this event held by RUNY comes as a welcome time to show that the rugby community stands for inclusivity rather than division and that everyone is welcome to play, watch and appreciate the game of rugby.
