Utah Warriors V Houston SaberCats

Week 9 of the MLR starts off tonight with a Thursday night game under the lights as Utah Warriors travel to Houston to take on the Houston SaberCats.

Both the Warriors and SaberCats have both displayed good periods of play throughout the season however neither teams have been able to convert this to an extended period of dominance that would see them win a game. The SaberCats Put in a fine performance 2 weeks ago against second place Seattle Seawolves where the Seawolves had to grind out a win against them.

NOLA Gold V Austin Elite Rugby

On Saturday, Austin Elite Rugby will hope to break their streak of defeats however it is not an easy task as they travel to New Orleans to take on league leaders NOLA Gold.

NOLA Gold have been in great form this season losing only one game so far to RUNY in week 4. The Gold have had some great in form players throughout the season with JP Eloff and center Tristan Blewett being the stars of the show.

RUNY V Glendale Raptors

RUNY host their second ever home game at MCU park on Sunday and will play host to the Glendale Raptors.  Glendale’s backs have lit the league alight with their back three in particular syncing up and wreaking havoc on opposition defences.

Full back Dylan Taikato-Simpson and winger Harley Davidson in particular have shown how dangerously dynamic they can be on the counter attack with Taikato-Simpson having on more than one occasion providing the assist to Davidson with incredible no look passes.

RUNY on the other hand have been a perfectly balanced team this season. Forwards such as John Quill and Dylan Fawsitt have been immense for RUNY, whilst Cathal Marsh and Connor Wallace-Sims have provided the spark in the backs to open up defences.

RUNY are off the back of a hard fought win against Toronto last week and you would have to think they have great momentum to get another win this weekend at home.
