The Free Jacks have acquired the services of Japan’s most capped front row forward Kensuke Hatakeyama. The experienced Japan international brings a wealth of experience with him to the Boston outfit, having racked up 78 caps for the Cherry Blossoms making him the 4th most capped Japanese international of all time.

Hatakeyama was an integral part of the Japan team who defeated South Africa in the 2015 World Cup. For the miracle match in Brighton, Hatakeyama faced his toughest test scrummaging down against the Beast Tendai Mtawarira. Below talked to World Rugby as he recalled the day.
Hatakeyama joins the Free Jacks from Japan Top League team Suntory Sungoliath where he made 99 appearances for the Tokyo outfit. Prior to this he had a brief stint at Newcastle Falcons in the RFU Championship.
The Free Jacks recently announced that they will be playing all of their home games for the MLR 2020 season at Union Point Stadium.
